Epicor Kinetic is built for manufacturers and shows it. Shop-floor execution, advanced planning and scheduling, quality management and engineer-to-order configuration are native rather than bolted on, and mixed-mode manufacturers running discrete and make-to-order work in the same plant are its natural fit. The trade-off is that the product is heavier to implement than a general-purpose mid-market ERP, and its financial and CRM modules are competent rather than category-leading. Partner selection should weight manufacturing domain experience above everything else.
